US State Department, IOM, German Sparkassenstiftung train TIP survivors

US State Department Trafficking in Persons Office, the International Organization for Migration (IOM) and German Sparkassenstiftung have offered  Business Skills Training to survivors trafficking in persons, with the aim of creating sustainable success for their microbusinesses.  

IOM United States disclosed this in a tweet. 

The tweet reads: “As part of the Enhanced Reintegration Support for Survivors of Trafficking (ERS) project funded by @JTIP_State, IOM partnered with German Sparkassenstiftung to offer Business Skills Training to survivors, with the aim of creating sustainable success for their microbusinesses.

“I’m learning so much during these trainings, it’s very motivating,” said one woman who runs a frozen food business, “I get to talk to other business owners and share ideas. This will really go a long way to help my cold store business. It makes me excited for my future.”

Going forward, the women will be mentored by business experts who will share expertise and advice. IOM will likewise continue to monitor the women’s progress to ensure the sustainability of their businesses.
