Anti-black racism worsens in Tunisia – Sea Watch International
Sea Watch International, an organization that saves lives in the Mediterranean Sea has decried the rising challenge of anti-black racism in Tunisia.
The organization in a statement said: “Anti-black racism in #Tunisia escalates! For months there have been reports of violence and arrests against Black people, legitimized by President Saïed’s racist rhetoric.
“Every day the number of people affected grows.
The situation has worsened since February, yet the #EU and @Refugees continue to view Tunisia and its autocratic regime as reliable partners, disregarding political and racist persecution.
“#EU, EU member states and @Refugees endanger #humanrights instead of protecting them. Rather than externalization, there must be freedom of movement and safe routes to #Europe.”
