National Agency for Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP)  has commended Danish government and other partners for supporting the fight against human trafficking.

The DG, Dr Fatima Waziri – Azi, said this while giving her goodwill message during the screening of the film on human

trafficking titled “Desperate Journeys”.

According to the DG, human trafficking is a crime with enormous challenges that required the collective support of all stakeholders and strategic counter-trafficking policy to fight it.

While thanking the Government of Denmark for the long-standing relationship with the Agency, she made reference to the global TIP report which stated that Nigeria has the strongest response to the issue of human trafficking

which indicates that tremendous progress is being made in this fight.

The movie is sponsored by the Government of Denmark, MeCAHT, with support from NAPTIP.
