Undocumented Guinean arrested for killing Nigerien migrant
Police have arrested an undocumented Guinean for killing a Nigerien migrant.
The accused, an undocumented migrant, kidnapped, tortured and killed the victim over an unpaid ransom of 4,500 LYD. According to Migrant Rescue Watch: “Police following discovery of a body found on the roadside between Tajoura and Tarhun launched an investigation and arrested within 24 hrs a suspect who confessed to killing the victim of Nigerien nationality.
“The accused, an undocumented migrant of Guinean nationality, kidnapped, tortured and killed the victim over an unpaid ransom of 4,500 LYD. The victim’s family was able only to collect and sent 1000 LYD which was insufficient to pay the ransom and led to killing of the victim. The accused was arrested in company of 2 drunk female migrants suspected of prostitution. All transferred to Tajoura Security Directorate for legal action.”
