According to the Mkenya Marekani Facebook page, the middle-aged father and husband died in Acworth, Georgia, on December 30, 2025.
‘General’ was a beloved husband to the late Margaret Nganga and father to Mercy, Ben, Evah, and Mumbi. He was also brother to Ngaruiya and S. K. Kimani, all of Acworth, Georgia, among others.
Meetings to mourn General and plan for his burial are being held at KACC, 771 Elberta Dr, Marietta, GA 30066. They started on Friday, January 2, 2026. His memorial service was also held there on Sunday, January 4, 2026.
The wake and viewing of the body were held at West Cobb Funeral Home, 2480 Macland Rd, Marietta, GA 30064, on Sunday, January 4, 2026.
“Please continue to uplift the family in prayer,” the family said.
“Daniel was a father, a family man, and a respected presence in our community. His wish, and our family’s, is to lay him to rest in Kenya, his home country, surrounded by family and loved ones,” the family said.
According to his daughter, Mercy Nganga, transporting a loved one internationally involves unexpected and significant expenses.
“The costs include funeral home preparation, required documentation, airline transportation, and coordination with authorities in both the United States and Kenya,” said Mercy.
“We are raising funds to help cover these expenses and ensure that Daniel can be returned home with dignity and respect. Any contribution, no matter the amount, will help ease the financial burden during this difficult time. Your support, prayers, and kindness mean more to our family than we can express. Thank you for helping us lay him to rest,” she added.
