Germany, and Greece are planning deportation camps in African countries, Sea-Watch International has said.

Sea-Watch International raised the alarm in a post on its X handle @seawatch_intl.

The post reads: “STOP SCROLLING: The EU wants to enable deportation camps on other continents and in order to do this, it’s simply changing its laws instead of protecting human rights. And Germany is going along with it. What happened?

“Yesterday, the @Europarl_EN  & the  @eu2025dk  defined so-called “safe third countries” at EU level. What does that mean? People who passed through these countries or come from them can be deported back there through fast-track procedures – even if those countries are unsafe no matter whether they belong to a persecuted group or not. No matter whether they speak the language, have family there, or any other ties. Racist policy? Never.”

Specifically, Sea-Watch International said Germany and  Greece are currently planning deportation camps in African countries. “This isn’t a new nightmare: Netherlands, United Kingdom, & Italy already tried similar schemes. Courts have slowed them down so far but now the EU is simply changing the laws that are meant to protect human rights. WTF?

And to correct the false claims by @RStoklund: stripping people of any real chance to seek asylum does nothing to stop deaths in the Mediterranean. People flee torture, war, and hunger. Only safe and legal pathways save lives. Your complicity is disgusting, @BMI_Bund.”
