Forty two people in distress in Bulgaria, Greece
A total of 42 people are in need of assistance in Bulgaria and Chios in Greece.
Seven of the people are distressed in Bulgaria while 35 people are in need of help in Chios.
This is according to information shared by Alarm Phone, an organization that independent support for people crossing the Mediterranean Sea to the EU
The information shared by Alarm Phone reads: “SOS 7 people in distress in #Bulgaria! We received information about a group that is urgently calling for assistance. They have been stranded in the forest for 2 days & report medical emergencies. We informed #Bulgarian authorities. Resuce is needed now and #NoPushback!”
Alarm Phone subsequently announced that “we have not been able to reach the group. #Bulgarian authorities told us on the phone they found and rescued the group but refused to share any detailed information. We can only hope this is true and that everybody is ok.”
Ina related post, Alarm Phone said “SOS~35 people in need of assistance on #Chios, #Greece!The group has arrived on the island. They say there is a pregnant woman among them who is asking for urgent medical assistance. We informed the local police – send assistance now, don’t delay, no #pushback!
“We lost contact with the people a few hours ago. Authorities on #Chios tell us that they found the group who are now in the reception centre on the island. We hope they received the help they needed and can now access asylum in #Greece!”
