Alarm Phone has received a Save Our Souls message regarding 139 people in distress at sea, south of Crete.

Alarm Phone, an organization that provides independent support for people crossing the Mediterranean Sea to the EU in a post announcing the distress said: “SOS ~139 people in distress at sea, south of #Crete! The relatives who told us about the boat lost contact with the people a few hours ago and are worried for their safety. We fear an interception back to #Libya! Authorities have been alerted: we urge them to rescue now!”

Alarm Phone added that: “We informed authorities about this case almost 24 hours ago. Since then, the  @HCoastGuard told us it was not their responsibility & the so-called #Libyan coast guard reported that they did not find the group at the last known position. We are worried & don’t know where they are!”
