After pushing back boat carrying 96 people, Turkish Coast Guard has published falsified reports to cover up the human rights violations, Aegean Boat Report said.

Aegean Boat Report  informed that on Sunday night, a boat carrying 96 people, amongst them 38 children, where pushed back by the Greek coast guard, “today the Turkish coast guard covered up the illegal actions of their Greek counterparts, by claiming in their official report that they had stopped the boat in Turkish waters.”

Aegean Boat Report noted that the boat was drifting, due to a malfunctioning engine, only 1.5 km from the shores of the Greek island of Nisyros. “Greek coast guard was informed, and they towed the boat with almost 100 people, 10 km into Turkish waters and left them drifting.

“They then sent an email to the Turkish coast guard, informing them of the drifting boat. Aegean Boat Report was also in contact with the Turkish coast guard and informed them of the pushback, now they pretend it never happened. Turkish authorities deliberately cover up human rights violations performed by Greek authorities,” Aegean Boat Report said.
