28 people in distress rescued by Turkish Coast Guard
Twenty eight people who were in distress
have been rescued by Turkish Coast Guard.
This was according to information provided by Aegean Boat Report.
Before the rescue, Aegean Boat Report had announced that “28 people in distress, imminent danger of drowning.”
It said “at 18.26 CET, we were contacted by people on board a sinking rubber boat south west of Cumhuriyet, Seferihisar, Turkey.”
Aegean Boat Report hinted that the rubber boat had started deflating on one side, and water was entering the boat, “reports of several people already in the water, and high number of children on board. High waves and wind in the area.
“Turkish coast guard was immediately alerted, and vessels are on route to location.Nobody onboard was wearing life jackets, we can only hope and pray that the rescue services will reach them in time.”
Subsequently, Aegean Boat Report announced that “We have been informed by the Turkish coast guard, that they have found and rescued 28 people, from a semi submerged rubble boat west of Cumhuriyet, Seferihisar, Turkey.
“Several of the people were rescued from the sea in close proximity to the rubber boat. According to the rescued, there are no missing people.”
