108 distressed in the Central Med, Crete
A total of 108 people are distressed in the Central Med, and Crete, Greece.
This was disclosed in separate posts by Alarm Phone an organisation that provides independent support for people crossing the Mediterranean Sea to the EU
One of the posts reads: “SOS~58 people in distress in the Central Med! We are in contact with ~58 people on a rubber boat in urgent distress ca. 40 miles north of Libya. They report water in the boat and are moving only very slowly. We alerted authorities 3 hours ago – an urgent intervention is needed!”
The second post by Alarm Phone said “50 people in distress on their way to #Crete, #Greece. We are in contact with this group, who say they need assistance urgently.
“Three merchant vessels are in the vicinity. We call on them and relevant authorities to carry out a rescue to a place of safety. No #pushback!”
