Two missing sailors’ bodies recovered, six rescued by Libyan Special Naval Forces

Libyan Special Naval Forces has recovered bodies of two missing sailors.

The Libyan Special Naval Forces also rescued six others.

According to Migrant Rescue Watch:
“Libyan Special Naval Forces jointly with police rescued 6 sailors (5 Syrian and 1 Lebanese) from an Egyptian merchant ship “DANA” that sank off the coast of Ras al-Tin (115 km west of Tobruk). The captain and 2 crew members are still missing.

“The surviving sailors following a complex rescue operation in a remote area were transferred to a medical clinic for assistance and are in good health. The search for missing continues.

Libyan Special Naval Forces released a video from the joint rescue operation of the Egyptian merchant vessel “DANA” that sank off the coast of Ras al-Tin. The #SAR Op was carried out by LSNF, Coast Security and Customs Agency.”

Providing an update on the incident a day ago, Migrant Rescue Watch said: “Libyan Special Naval Forces recovered today bodies of 2 missing sailors from the sunken Egyptian ship.”
