One hundred and thirty  children were last week found drifting in life rafts, and  rubber boats in the Aegean Sea after Greek pushbacks.

Aegean Boat Report disclosed this in a statement.

The statement reads: “The last week over 130 small children have been found drifting in life rafts and rubber boats in the Aegean Sea after Greek pushbacks, most of them Afghan nationals. On Tuesday night a boat carrying 53 people was pushed back outside Chios by the Greek coast guard, left drifting with a destroyed engine, onboard was 33 small children.

“At noon on Monday a group of 32 people was found drifting in two life rafts inside Turkish waters south of Lesvos, after being left drifting by the Greek coast guard, amongst them 16 small children. On Sunday morning 42 people was found drifting in a rubber boat without a engine inside Turkish waters south of Lesvos, after being pushed back by the Greek coast guard, onboard 29 small children.”

Also on Sunday morning, Aegean Boat Report said “a group of 27 people was found drifting in two life raft inside Turkish waters south of Lesvos, after being left helplessly drifting by the Greek coast guard, 8 of them were small children.

“The coast guard, who has sworn an oath to protect life at sea, leaves small children helplessly drifting in the middle of the sea, deliberately putting their lives at risk, that’s cruel beyond words.

The Greek coast guard is violating international laws and human rights on a daily basis, in the name of border protection, that lives are lost seems to be of no concern.

“We all knows that this has been ongoing for years, thousands of people have been killed by the hands of Greek coast guard, in their efforts to illegally stop people intending to seek asylum in reaching Greek shores.”

It noted that this is done on direct orders from the Greek prime minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, supported and funded by the European Commission and Frontex, all in the name of «border protection» and the «European way of life».

“What human being would leave defenseless small children helplessly drifting in the middle of the sea?”, Aegean Boat Report asked.

“We need to wake up, we need to raise our voices and put an end to this madness once and for all,” he said.
