Police foils boat crossing attempt in Al-Khums area

 Attempt at crossing undocumented migrants on boat in Al-Khums area has been foiled by the police.

This was contained in new update provided by Migrant Rescue Watch.

The update said:  “Police Intervention & Control Department  thwarted an attempted boat crossing in Al-Khums area and apprehended 66 undocumented #migrants incl. women and children of different nationalities.

“During police intervention the boat crossing organizer of Libyan national was also arrested. All referred to DCIM for legal action.”

Migrant Rescue Watch also said that the DCIM in cooperation with Emergency Medicine and Support Center carried out sanitization of Ajdabiya Immigration Detention Center. The medical convoy staff provided also supplies and assistance to #migrants held in IDC.”

Update by Migrant Rescue Watch added that:

“DCIM transferred from Al-Marj to Benghazi and Shahat IDCs 10 undocumented #migrants of Chadian, Egyptian and Sudanese nationalities for repatriation. The group incl. 5 medical cases.

DCIM transferred from Ajdabiya to Qanfoudah Immigration Detention Center in Benghazi 41 #migrants of different nationalities for repatriation. The group incl. medical cases.
