Sixty Gambians including four women and two babies, have been reportedly lost at sea.

A researcher who goes by the name Jihed, posted information about the incident on his X handle.

He said: “Another tragic,#invisible_shipwreck off #Sfax: 60 Gambians, including 4 women and 2 babies, lost at sea. Only 4 survivors reported so far as shared via multiple FB pages by people close to those on the move. #Tunisians authorities remain silent.”

This, Jihed said is happening every day,and the “#European_border regime is complicit in these deaths.Despite weather alerts, people risk it all, fleeing violent interceptions and cruel border policies. The system forces them into more dangerous routes and more tragedies #EndBorderViolence.”

Jihed had two days ago posted that six Sub-Saharan women, including a baby girl, were found dead off Monastir #Tunisia’s coast on Wednesday after yet another invisible shipwreck.
“EUborder policies are directly responsible for this ongoing tragedy How many African lives must be lost before this cruelty ends?
#Borderkills,”he posted.
