Military forces in eastern Libya’s “Tariq bin Ziyad” have freed 1,000 people, including more 700 women and children most of them from Somalia, detained in Al-Shuwerif for more than 2 years, a researcher who goes by the name Jihed posted on his X handle.

According to him, the military forced moved the people to centers run by the #immigration agency.

Sadly, he said “thousands are still held captive as traffickers exploit refugees for ransom.
Notably,Tarek ben Zied was behind multiple violent interceptions and helped traffickers. It’s all a piece of theater, and Tarek ben Zied knows about these too.”

Jihed had earlier condemned continuous deportation of Tunisia by Germany.

He said: “Another plane landed at Enfidha Airport this week, forcibly deporting Tunisians from Germany
This makes it the 7th mass deportation flight this year alone, with no transparency from our authorities and completely invisible
In2022,there were 12mass deportation flights.

Jihed went on to ask “How long will our government remain silent while Tunisians are treated like this? The Tunisian authorities don’t even provide any information these f deportations from Germany, Italy, and France who arrive by flight plus ferries used for deportation this summer.”
