A number of Eritrean refugees have allegedly been burnt with plastic while fleeing to Libya to escape the regime’s brutal grip.
Refugees In Libya made the disclosed this while condemning the action of the Eritrean authorities.
Writing under the heading ‘The Reality of Eritrean Refugees’ Refugees In Libya said: “This haunting image shows the devastating scars of Eritrean refugees who were burned with plastic while fleeing to Libya to escape the regime’s brutal grip. The physical and emotional pain they endure is a stark reminder of the harsh reality many face in pursuit of freedom.
“As we witness this heart-wrenching scene, I ask: how can anyone celebrate Eritrea’s “Freedom Day” when this is the brutal truth for so many of our brothers and sisters? The regime’s transnational repression and human rights abuses continue to ravage lives, leaving scars that may never fully heal.”
Eritrea’s human rights index ranking, Refugees In Libya said is a staggering 180 out of 180, “solidifying its position as one of the worst human rights abusers in the world.
“I condemn any celebration that ignores this harsh reality. Instead, let us stand in solidarity with Eritrean refugees and demand justice, freedom, and an end to the regime’s tyranny.”
