Two convicted for attempting to sell eight-yr old

A Nigerian agency, the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) says it has secured two convictions in Benue State.

In a statement released on its X platform, the agency said: “NAPTIP secures two convictions in the National Industrial Court of Nigeria, Makurdi.

The two convicts Solomon Terpase Chiana, aged 42, and Pius Aondoakaa, aged 28, were found guilty of conspiracy to sell Solomon Terpase Chiana’s 8-year-old son.

“They were both charged under sections 27 (Conspiracy) & 21 (Buying and Selling of Human Beings) of the TIPPEA Act 2015 and sentenced to five years imprisonment on each count, to run concurrently.
