Tunisian National Guard thwarts 85 illegal crossings in 24hrs
The Tunisian National Guard has thwarted 85 illegal crossing in 24hrs,a release by Migrant Rescue Watch said.
According to the release: “Tunisian National Guard in Central Sector (Sfax/Bahri al-Wasat) in only 24 hours thwarted 85 illegal crossings of maritime border.
“During ops 2,688 #migrants (2,640 sub-Saharan & 48 Tunisian) were rescued and 13 bodies recovered.”
In a related context, Migrant Rescue Watch said 15 suspects including organizers and mediators involved in human smuggling were arrested, 23 iron boats, 68 marine vessels, a truck used for transport of #migrants and a quantity of fuel were confiscated. #DontTakeToTheSea #seenotrettung #Frontex”
