Women arrested for panhandling transferred to DCIM for deportation

Women of different nationalities arrested for panhandling have been arrested and transferred to DCIM custody (Libya) for deportation.

According to Migrant Rescue Watch , the people were apprehended by tye Women’s Police Department in Tobruk during patrols for panhandling in public areas.

It said the group of migrant women of different nationalities were accompanied by children. All were transferred to DCIM custody for deportation.

“It is believed that the females belong to organized gangs and were forced into exploitive begging. The phenomenon of beggary is a type exploitation in which children, women and elderly are used by criminal gangs to make profits

“Exploitive begging: 1) to force a person to beg in public areas 2) to expose to a physical or psychological violence if no funds are collected 3) to deprive of education and health care and 4) to force a person to work long hours in adverse conditions. #Frontex”
