Migrant Rescue Watch has shared update on migrant rescue, and arrest in Libya.
It said: “Coast Security patrols interdicted off the coast of Sorman a rubber boat with ca. 80 #migrants of mainly sub-Saharan nationalities.
The #migrants were transferred for disembarkation to Zawiya and the boat was destroyed to prevent potential reuse by smugglers.
“Western Region Support Forces thwarted an attempted boat crossing and apprehended 16 undocumented #migrants includng 3 women of different nationalities. All transferred to WRSF HQ in Zuwara pending DCIM notification.”
It added that Police in response to complaints arrested in Kufra 2 gang members of Sudanese nationality responsible for thefts and attacks (with white weapons) on Sudanese #refugees and #migrants. The accused were transferred to Kufra Security Directorate for legal action, adding: “Investigation Dept. of General Administration of Central Support arrested 2 Nigerien #migrants responsible for assault with bodily injury of a police officer. The accused were transferred to Al-Farnaj Police Dept. (Tripoli Security Directorate) for legal action.”
