Man abducting undocumented migrants for ransom arrested
A man suspected for kidnapping undocumented migrants for ransom has been arrested in Libya.
For people abducted by the suspect according to Migrant Rescue Watch were released by the police.
“CID in Al-Marj following an investigation arrested a kidnapper ‘M.A.J.’ and his accomplice ‘A.R.E.’ (Egyptian national) responsible for kidnapping for ransom of undocumented #migrants of Egyptian nationality,” Migrant Rescue Watch said.
The Police,it added was able to free with the use of a location-tracking app 4 victims held captive by the kidnappers after one of the abductees managed to send his location.
“During investigation, it was also revealed that the main accused was already sentenced in absentia to 25 years for his involvement in #migrant boat sinking off the coast of Tolmeita. #migrantcrisis #DontTakeToTheSea #seenotrettung #Frontex.”
