A total of forty eight migrants have been removed from the UK by the government.

The authorities also handed a three-year jail term to a human smuggler.

Announcing the developments, the UK Home Office said: “Today we removed another 48 people who had no right to be in the UK, on one of our regular returns flights.

“This included criminals convicted of producing, possessing and intending to sell drugs.

“Dangerous foreign criminals have no place in this country.”

The Home Office had earlier announced that “A people smuggler has been jailed for 3 years for trying to enter the UK with 7 illegal migrants crammed in the sleeping compartment of his van.

“Those who abuse our borders will be caught – and face justice.”
