Libyan Coast Security prevents human smuggling in Umm al-Qandil
Libyan Coast Security has thwarted a human smuggling move in Umm al-Qandil area.
The Libyan Coast Security (Sirte Detachment) during joint patrols with units of 20/20 Company Tariq Bin Zeyad Brig. thwarted in Umm al-Qandil area an attempted human smuggling and seized a large wooden boat earmarked for #migrant sea crossing,” Migrant Rescue Watch said.
During operation, it added that a body, reportedly of an Egyptian #migrant was also found in the same area. “The body was transferred to CID at Ras Lanuf Security Directorate for completion of legal procedures.”
