NAPTIP, Netherlands parley on fighting human trafficking

The National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) and the Kingdom of the Netherlands have discussed the need for collaboration to stem the tide of human trafficking.

The discussion took place when NAPTIP DG, Prof Fatima Waziri-Azi , hosted a delegation from the Kingdom of Netherlands.

A statement by the agency said the meeting emphasized the review of current anti-trafficking projects supported by the Kingdom of Netherlands.

The statement reads: “The DG NAPTIP,@fatwaz16 hosted a delegation from the Kingdom of Netherlands, led by Mr. Eric Van der Burg, Minister for Migration at the Ministry of Justice and Security.
Discussions centered on enhancing collaboration in the ongoing fight against human trafficking.

“The meeting emphasized the review of current anti-trafficking projects supported by the Kingdom of Netherlands, highlighting a shared commitment to sustain and strengthen cooperation between 🇳🇬 and the 🇳🇱 in addressing the menace of HT.

“The Delegation concluded the visit with attendance at a sign-off event for School Anti-Trafficking Education and Advocacy Project (STEAP) implementation b/w ICMPD and NAPTIP.

“The collaborative effort, funded by the Kingdom of the Netherlands, aims to raise awareness of human trafficking among students, parents, teachers, and communities.

:”The project signifies a crucial step in combating the dangers of human trafficking, emphasizing education as a powerful tool. Kudos to ICMPD and NAPTIP for their commitment to addressing this critical issue.

& Violence Against Persons Vanguard, along with the State Task Force on Human Trafficking from the five project states, gathered at GSS Gwarimpa (Lifecamp) for a significant event attended by representatives from GSS Gwarimpa (Lifecamp) and GGSS Dutse-Alhaji.”
