Seebrüecke International introduces online counselling service

Seebrüecke International a German organization that wants safe passage and an end to criminalisation of civil sea rescue has introduced an online counselling service.

The counseling service Penagerr.

The organisation in a statement announcing the innovation said: “”Today we would like to introduce you to an important new initiative – the online counselling service @Penagerr

“Pena.ger provides low-threshold counselling in German, Kurdish and Turkish for people with a history of flight.

“They are particularly focussed on referring people seeking advice to regional structures. They also offer counselling during the asylum procedure and guidance as well as referral counselling.”

“Penager” is a combination of the Kurdish words “Pena” (shelter/help) and “Ger” (search/seeker). They chose this name to refer to someone seeking protection or in need of help, inspired by the word “Penaber” (refugee).
