Greek authorities pushback 22 Palestinians seeking refuge

Twenty two Palestinians seeking refuge in Europe have been pushed back from Lesvos by the Greek authorities.

On January 5, Aegean Boat Report said two life rafts were found drifting south of Lesvos inside Turkish territory waters, onboard 22 Palestinians.

“People onboard claims that the Greek Coast Guard stopped them before they reached land on Lesvos, took them onboard a Greek Coast Guard vessel, took them back out to sea, forced them into two life rafts and left them helplessly drifting.

“If Palestinians aren’t refugees, fleeing war and persecution, I don’t know who is,” Aegean Boat Report said in a statement.

These pushbacks, according to the organization are supported and funded by the European Commission and Frontex, European taxpayers money is used to push back also Palestinian refugees in the Aegean Sea.

“First they flee Israeli bombs in Gaza, then captured and illegally deported in life rafts by Greek Authorities.

“Greece supported the U.N. resolution on Gaza cease-fire, then violate the fundamental human rights of the people of Gaza.
