Female migrants arrested for panhandling
An unspecified number of female Arab and African migrants have been arrested in Libya.
Migrant Rescue Watch said the women were arrested for panhandling.
The organization said: “Patrols of Women’s Police Dept. apprehended during security checks in Benghazi a group female #migrants with children of different Arab and African nationalities for panhandling in public places. All transferred to Benghazi Security Directorate.
Migrant Recue Watch in another post said: “LIBAID distributed hygiene kits to 331 #migrants in Kufra Immigration Detention and Deportation Center. Also, #migrants were issued with a detainee ID provided by UNHCR.
“Reported nationalities of currently held in the center #migrants: Chad: 62, Egypt 73, Eritrea 4, Nigeria 1 and Sudan 243.”
