Libyan guards patrol border with Tunisia
Migrants seeking to enter into Libya from Tunisia may have to have a rethink.
This is as 419th Battalion of Libyan Border Guard has been dispatched to patrol border areas with Tunisia.
According to Migrant Rescue Watch, the “Libyan Border Guard (MoD) deployed units of 419th Battalion to patrol border areas with Tunisia for purpose of monitoring cross-border infiltration and illegal immigration.”
Meanwhile IOM Gambia on Saturday announced the voluntary return of 136 migrants from Libya.
“Yesterday, we facilitated the voluntary return of 136 stranded Gambian migrants from Libya 🇱🇾
Upon arrival, they received:
⚕️ Medical and psychosocial screenings
🎒 Non-food item kits
🏘️ Temporary accommodation
They’ll soon reunited with their families.”
