Libyan Red Crescent, police recover migrant’s body

An unidentified body of a migrant washed ashore in Sabratha has been recovered.

Migrant Rescue Watch said the Libyan Red Crescent (Sabratha Branch) jointly with police recovered unidentified body of the #migrant washed ashore in Sabratha. “The body was transferred to hospital morgue for completion of procedures.”

In another development, Migrant Rescue Watch shared information about how the CID in response to report of kidnapping received from a group of #migrants who managed to escaped their captors carried out raid on a house in Al-Mashashiya area (Brak). “During operation police arrested the owner of the house and seized a quantity of hashish and alcohol.

“The group of 10 #migrants of Chadian, Gambian, Nigerian and Senegalese nationalities were held for 35 days at the location where they were physically abused by kidnappers in an attempt to extort ransom from their families.”

All migrants according to Migrant Rescue Watch were transferred to Al-Salam Police Dept. “and some had to be taken to Brak General Hospital for medical care.”
