Seebrüecke International raises alarm over EU’s CEASE reform
Seebrüecke International, a German Non Governmental Organization that wants safe passage and an end to criminalisation of civil sea rescue has expressed concerns over legislative proposals on common asylum being discussed by the EU.
Seebrüecke is therefore calling for a stop on the EU’s Common European Asylum System (CEAS).
” A package of legislative proposals is currently being discussed in the EU under the term “CEAS reform”, the implementation of which threatens far-reaching tightening of the so-called Common European Asylum System (CEAS).”
Most recently, Seebrüecke International said Council discussed the “crisis regulation”, which has now also been voted on with the approval of the German government. This crisis regulation legalizes the lowering of the already catastrophic standards in asylum policy in self-defined “crisis cases”.
“We oppose the progressive disenfranchisement of people on the run and demand: Stop CEAS! For this we go from October 6 to 8 in many places on the street, inform at information booths and are present with actions – and that’s just the beginning!”
