MSF Sea, LouiseMichel in massive rescue of distressed migrants
MSF Sea, and LouiseMichel have separately rescued a large number of distressed migrants on the sea.
MSF today announced the successful disembarkation of 471 survivors while LouiseMichel said it had also successfully disembarked 35 people in Pozzallo.
“Rescue completed!”, MSF Sea wrote as it excitedly announced its successful rescue operations.
“The 471 survivors, including 173 unaccompanied minors and 7 pregnant women, have disembarked in #Brindisi, the place of safety assigned by Italian authorities following last Saturday’s rescues operation. We wish them all the best for their future!,” MSF Sea said.
LouiseMichel on its part said all 35 survivors of yesterday’s two rescues disembarked in Pozzallo.

The Louise Michel completed a second #rescue of 16 people in #distress, from a fibreglass boat.
The crew is handing out water, food and blankets as well as attending to any medical needs. Louise Michel is now heading north again on our way to the assigned port of #Pozzallo.”
Earlier, the organisation announced that “The crew of Louise Michel was informed about a boat in distress by @alarm_phone and @PVolontaires.”
Before then, it had posted that “All 19 survivors including 1 child and 1 baby have been embarked on the Louise Michel.
“The Louise is now proceeding towards another distress case reported by @alarm_phone.”
