Former UNHCR Head, Policy Development and Evaluation Service, Jeff Crisp, has asked the UN refugee agency to make a statement regarding allegations that
local security forces and UNHCR guards were attacking the Sudanese refugees in Libya. The UNHCR office in Libya was also accused of leaving the Sudanese refugees without basic necessities.

Jeff made the call in response to a post by Solidarity with Refugees, a not for profit organization that “Dozens of women and children left in the streets in front of @UNHCRLibya for weeks on end without the most basic neccessities….
Instead of receiving humanitarian support, they are attacked by local security forces & UNHCR guards. They need PROTECTION instead of MISERY ‼️”

Alarmed by the post, Jeff said in a tweet: “Attacked by UNHCR guards.”
If that is right it would represent a major violation of the organization’s guidelines and would warrant an immediate investigation.
Could UNHCR please provide a statement.”

We, voiceforafricanmigrants.org had yesterday, reported the abandonment of the Sudanese refugees.
