MFA,IOM discuss future of migration, business, human rights
Migrant Forum Asia (MFA) in partnership with @IOMAsiaPacific , conducted a two-day Regional Civil Society Consultation on “The Future of Migration, Business and Human Rights in Asia: Priority Areas of Engagement”.
The event was held in Bangkok, Thailand between August 14 and 15.
A statement by MFA said: “The consultation facilitated an exchange between civil society and the IOM on key priorities and needs of migrant workers, and built on the outcomes and findings from national and regional research and previous partnerships between MFA and IOM.
“Through the discussion between stakeholders, inputs from the participants of the MFA network further informed a migrant worker-inclusive approach to IOM’s Migration, Business and Human Rights future programming, ensuring a rights-based approach.”
MFA believes in human rights and dignity of all migrants irrespective of race, gender, class, age,religious beliefs and status.
