Citizens move against deployment of Frontex to Senegal
Senegal will not accept the deployment of Frontex to its border, an activist from the country, Ibrahima Konate has said.
Konate said he made the remark following his knowledge about the activities of Frontex in the Mediterranean.
According to him: “It was in June 2022 that we felt the interest of creating synergies in the fight against frontex in Senegal and our 1st 72h PUSH BACK FRONTEX action was at the end of September 2022.
“The idea was first to raise awareness among the Senegalese population of danger from the murderous EU border control agency (FRONTEX). It is true that in Senegal no one talks about Frontex and perhaps does not know this agency that we consider criminal.
“We felt this ignorance of the population in the migration policies of Senegal and we see it important to let our government know that we do not agree to the deployment of frontex in Senegal and to let them know that we know what frontex made in the Mediterranean, in the Aegean Sea and in the borders.”
