IOM, Tunisian, Libyan authorities evacuate 126 stranded people
International Organization for Migration (IOM) Tunisia, in collaboration with Tunisian and Libyan authorities and evacuated 126 stranded people to the UN agency’s shelter.
IOM Mena announced this on its Twitter handle IOM_MENA.
The post reads: “In close collaboration with Tunisian and Libyan authorities, & @Croissantunisie, @IOM_Tunisia assisted the evacuation of 126 stranded individuals between #Libya and #Tunisia to its shelters in Tataouine, Medenine.
This comes as part of IOM’s emergency response to the ongoing situation of stranded migrants between #Tunisia and #Libya.
“IOM will continue to closely liaise with multiple partners & national authorities to intensify efforts & scale up its response to the ongoing situation.”
It added that IOM stands to continue supporting relevant authorities to resolve the current situation in a humane and principled manner.”
