Humanity1 rescues 100 distressed people in two operations

About 100 distressed people were yesterday rescued from international waters.
The rescue operations were carried out by the crew of #Humanity1. 80 people were rescued in the first operation while about 20 others were saved in the second.
Announcing the successful operations on its Twitter handle, SOS Humanity (international) @soshumanity_en said: “The crew of the #Humanity1 rescued over 80 people in distress from an overcrowded, unseaworthy inflatable boat in international waters this morning. They had fled from #Libya during the night and are now receiving first aid from our crew. Water had already entered the boat at the time of the rescue, no one had a life jacket. Among the survivors are several women, including at least one pregnant woman, multiple unaccompanied minors, and two babies.
In a second rescue in international waters, “the crew of #Humanity1 rescued around 20 more people from distress at sea this afternoon. They were on a small, unseaworthy, overcrowded rubber boat without life jackets.On board Humanity 1 there are now over 100 rescued people who had set off from #Libya. They are all being cared for by the crew.”
