International Organization for Migration, IOM DG- elect, Amy Pope today joined people across the globe to mark the 2023 World Day Against Trafficking in Persons.
She used the opportunity to commend staff of the UN agency for their efforts to end human trafficking through their work.
Amy Pope in a post via her Twitter handle said: “For World Day Against Trafficking in Persons, I want to recognize @UNmigration’s & other global efforts to #EndHumanTrafficking – the same forces leading people to migrate such as conflict and climate shocks also escalate the risk of trafficking.
“I am incredibly grateful for the staff at @UNmigration who are contributing to efforts to #EndHumanTrafficking through their work ensuring the safety & protection of people on the move along with assisting survivors of trafficking & other abuse.”
