20 of the people arrested according to Alarm Phone were expelled to Libya. Alarm Phone said: “After a house raid in #Sfax 48 people were arrested and 20 of them expelled to #Libya by Tunisian military. They are now in the border region and are urgently asking for help: They were threatened by gunmen, money & food was taken away, their mobile phones were destroyed.
“Six women and a girl (16) are with them, two women are pregnant, one of them needs medical care. OHCHR, @UNmigration @Refugees and the
Tunisian Red Cross are informed, but still nobody is helping. The people need to be picked up NOW and get food and medical supplies!
These deportations practices & violence perpetrated by the Tunisian authorities on migrant communities are documented since a long time! This event is another evidence that #Tunisia cannot be considered as a safe country! @UNHCR, it is time to take action and ensure your mandate!”
