Calls to abolish Frontex thicken
Calls for the abolition of European Border and Coast Guard Agency, Frontex, are soaring.
According to Abolishfrontex, no fewer than 20 cities across Africa Europe have thrown their weights behind the abolition of Frontex. “Brick by brick, wall by wall, we’ll make Fortress Europe fall! Today in more than 20 cities across Africa and Europe people are taking action, calling on the EU to #AbolishFrontex and end the EU border regime,” Abolishfrontex said.
Posting pictures of actions taken in different cities, the organization went on to ask rhetorically: “How does it feel to have your freedom of movement taken away?
“Activists in Brussels ensured that the people working for Frontex get a taste of their own medicine.
“Elsewhere in Brussels a poster action took place on the building of the Belgian political party in charge of asylum and migration.
“Frontex is complicit in murders. More than 50,000 people have been killed at the EU borders in the last 30 years.”
