Marit Glad, the Norwegian Refugee Council’s (NRC’s) Country Director in Ukraine has condemned the  overnight attacks in Dnipropetrovsk and Zaporizhzhia regions in Ukraine.

Marit made the remark in a statement yesterday.

The statement reads: “The Norwegian Refugee Council condemns in the strongest terms the Russian Federation’s strikes last night on energy infrastructure in and around Dnipro, Zaporizhzhia, and Kryvyi Rih, in eastern Ukraine.

“We are deeply concerned about the affected individuals and families who have been left without power, heating, or water as temperatures plummet and we enter the coldest period of the year.

“These continued and massive attacks on civilian facilities essential for survival are unacceptable and contravene international humanitarian law, punishing the most vulnerable including children and older persons.

“NRC urges an immediate end to this cruel energy war and calls on all parties to protect civilians and critical infrastructure.”
