Twenty six people rescued by Nadir crew have disembarked at Lampedusa.

Resqship said the 26 people who were on a rubber boat, departed from Libya and had spent 2 days on the water already.

Resqship said the people were spotted by the #Nadir yesterday afternoon.

“The Crew assessed the situation and then accompanied the boat for about two hours.

“When darkness was about to fall all people were taken aboard the Nadir. Many were exhausted and malnourished and received treatment from the medical team. After spending the night aboard the Nadir everybody could safely disembark in Lampedusa this morning.”

Meanwhile, Resqship said the crew witnessed moments of resilience and solidarity: “One person taking in the sight of the moon, which he hadn’t seen for six months while imprisoned in Libya or others taking turns carefully massaging the hands of a sick fellow traveller.”
