Seebrücke International, an international movement that wants safe passages and an end to the criminalisation of civil sea rescue says the German government is planning a cut in its 2024 budget.

The budget cut according to Seebrücke International will affect the area of migration counselling and psychosocial care of refugees

“The federal government already presented the government draft for the 2024 federal budget at the beginning of July. Shocking cuts are planned, among other things, in the area of migration counselling and in the psychosocial care of refugees.

“The AWO warns: “What the government has presented creates new hardships in everyday life for many people and threatens social cohesion. ”

Before the planned budget becomes reality, the Bundestag still has to approve it. So the cuts can still be stopped.

“We join the criticism and support the demands of the BAGFW to the Bundestag to stop the cuts!

At the weekend, the European policy of sealing off borders has cost the lives of more people at the Polish-Belarusian border.”
