Condemnation is training passage of UK Illegal Migration Bill by the parliament.

The opposers of the bill described it as a despicable and inhuman act.

Below are their reactions to UK Home Office announcement of the passage of the bill.

Joan Hoggan: Despicable – undermining the entire tradition of giving refuge to asylum- seekers fleeing war, persecution and oppression. A shameful act – and called out as such by the UN.

MM Khan: Today marks a dark day as the UK enacts the most atrocious legislation, legally allowing human suffering. This is a grave betrayal of 🇬🇧 values, an affront to compassion, and a stain on 🇬🇧 society.

Revd Jide ‘Emeka’ Macaulay: This is truly painful for humanity. What a way for U.K. to legalise harm for those fleeing persecution. To avoid her responsibilities as a safe nation. Unfortunately, You have just enriched the smugglers and exacerbated the pain of millions.

Northern Do Good: It won’t because the UK has a legal obligation to accept asylum seekers no matter how they get here. The UK’s already in breach of its duty of care to refugees by failing to offer safe routes, now it’s attempting to criminalise them. That’s human rights abuse and it’s illegal.

David Jenken: Dark day for the UK on the world stage. This bill marks everything wrong with this country at the moment. People fleeing from war or wanting a better life for their family should be helped not persecuted.

Having said that, it’s a Tory bill so it’s unlikely to actually work.

Richard: Something as unlawful and heinous as this can never become law.
